2. What data we collect and why

We collect identity data (name, date of birth, phone, email, photo), professional data (trade profile, work history, qualifications), credential documents, sensitive tax/payment/eligibility information, and technical session/security data to operate onboarding and access-control flows safely.

3. Legal basis for processing

UK GDPR Article 6 lawful bases include contract performance and legitimate interests. Sensitive categories are processed with explicit consent and contract necessity where required.

4. How we store data

Data is hosted on Supabase (encrypted in transit and at rest). Credential files are private by default and shared via short-lived signed URLs. Sensitive fields are access-controlled separately from profile data.

5. Who we share data with

Data is shared with employers only when workers approve access. Infrastructure/subprocessors include Supabase, Resend (email delivery), and Stripe (business billing). We never sell personal data.

6. Data retention

Active accounts are retained while in use. Deleted account data is purged within 30 days, except where legal obligations apply (for example invoices retained up to 7 years).

7. Worker rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or objection by emailing hello@gettradecard.com. You can also complain to the UK ICO at ico.org.uk.

8. Cookies

We use essential authentication/session cookies only. We do not run third-party advertising cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

Material policy changes are communicated to workers by email.
